Epiphany Water Blessing

1. Litany of the Saints

Notes and some timestamps:

  • Repeat opening section after chanters (ij sections)

  • Watch out for "ora pro nobis" vs "orate pro nobis" (the latter for plurals)

  • 7:50 - p. 3 - Omnes sancti et sanctae - "intercedite pro nobis," followed by a new section "parce nobis Domine"

  • 8:15 - p. 4 - "Ab omni..." led by Father through "in die judicii"

  • 11:03 - p. 4 - cantors resume with "Peccatores," new response "te rogramus audi nos"

  • 11:10 - p. 4 & 5 - Father resumes, from "Ut nobis" through to p. 5 "ut hanc aquam..." (not included in this litany video, as this part is specific to the Epiphany water blessing only)

  • 14:12 - p. 5 - cantors resume with "ut nos exaudire digneris" and Fili (not Filii) Dei

  • 14:27 - p. 6 - Agnus Dei through end of litany (ends before Pater Noster)

2. Psalms: 28, 45, 146

Alternate verses: men on odd verses, ladies on even. Men will always take the Gloria Patri no matter if the verse is even or odd.

For the flex (cross), stay on the same pitch

3. Hodie/Magnificat

Number your verses starting with Magnificat being #1 (see pdf)

The intonation for the remaining verses is the "et exsultavit" portion of the first verse.

Return to the Hodie after the Gloria Patri.

Hodie only

Hodie with Magnificat

4. Te Deum

Colour-coded sections match the melody in other sections of the same colour. Additional notes are marked.
